I got back from Greece about 3 weeks ago now. I think that you can take fabric softener with you providing it is in your suitcase. As for food, I don't think that you are suppose to take any fruit, meat or cheese or any plant life. As far as I know, that is a customs thing and not because of the recent scares. I hope you have a great time in Greece!!!

I live in Crete. It is very safe here and you do not need to worry about your son's biscuits I dont think. There are almost no security checks in Athens airport once you land. There is no customs declaration or anything. The question is whether or not you can get it on the plane in the first place. Try checking the fabric conditioner in your luggage under the plane. Also, you can always ask the clerk at the ticket counter when you check in. He/she should know the current restrictions.
My aunt and uncle were just here less than a month ago and they brought bug spray, sunscreen, peanut butter and about fifty other items like that and had no problems. It largely depends on which airport you fly out of. JFK in New York tends to be much more strict than others. Atlanta airport is more relaxed, I believe, so if you are taking the direct flight from Atlanta to Athens you should be ok. If you are flying from somewhere in Europe, you definately wont have a problem.
I wouldnt worry so much about it. If you don't try and hide anything and ask the clerk at the ticket counter about items of your concern, the worst they can do is throw them away.
Good luck and have fun!

It depends on the policy in your country really. Greece is not a target of terrorists, so just ask at your local airport. Also, don't worry, you'll find such products in Greece too.

Hello dear! Welcome to Greece, the closest to paradise possible!
I feel fortunate since within the last three weeks I visited Monemvasia, Athens, the Cave of Petralona, in Chalkidiki, with tools made 13 million years ago, bones of standing people dated more than a million years ago, etc.. The found lake society dated more than 10,000 years ago, by the Kastoria lake

There are 2 forms of British travelers: a. very cultured those who visit the monuments and Britain might want to be proud to have them. b. children who come the following to get inebriated and do stupid issues. i fairly do not comprehend why they sense this urge, in spite of the undeniable fact that it really is a shame, and that i imagine the in basic terms reason they try it really is they could and thet they are going to destroy out with it. i imagine the greek police might want to do something about it, yet there is such quite a number of them, that the interior reach police can not administration the difficulty (at the moment this style of travelers bit off a policeman's ear). Plus in Greece we attempt to be hospitable. in spite of the undeniable fact that, something might want to be finished. provide up promoting alcohol in those places, arresting human beings for causing difficulty yet not in basic terms conserving them contained in the police station till eventually they sobre up, they might want to ought to pay vast time or stay in penal complicated for something of their vacation trips. the priority is that the authorities do not prefer to attempt this, because then the 1000's of travelers received't come the following any extra. in spite of the undeniable fact that, they don't comprehend that those travelers deter sturdy high quality travelers from coming the following. So drastic measures might want to be taken.
