If you ever booed A-Rod, Why did you do it?
I realize everyone has different reasons for booing him.
I never did, but I'd like to know why you did or still do.
Does everyone except me still hate my sweet A-Rod now that
he's back to his old superstar self?
: )

I boo him because I expect that when you are toted as the best player in baseball and getting paid 25 million a year, you don't commit 25 errors in a season, and you certainly don't strike out 3-4 times a game at least 10 times in a season. I also expect that when you have runners on 3rd and 2nd or if the bags are juiced, you don't pop foul or strikeout or hit into a double play (Double-play Rod, i bet people have heard that one before).

Thank God he's back, but he will NEVER EVER be a true Yankee if he doesn't get us that ring. Hopefully he keeps this up through the playoffs.

Hey Mary* - I'm a Phillies and Yankee fan who follows both teams. I wouldn't say I've booed A-Rod but rather have been disappointed by his play in key spots in the game. For 25 million a year you'd like to see him do a better job. 25 million a year is a lot to live up to. I'm a Jeter fan myself and have enjoyed his play this year. Hope he get MVP in the American League and Ryan Howard in the National League.

You really want to know why A-Rod is getting booed Missy. How about getting paid $250M and not getting a WS ring to show for? How about being 2005 MVP and not doing crap during last year's playoffs against the Angels? I'm a die hard Yankee fans and I will be the first one to say this: if A-Rod don't step up his game this year and don't win a WS then he will be GONE!!!

I think everybody's reason is pretty much the same: He's supposed to be the best player in baseball and he was playing like Chuck Knoblauch. Yankees fans have a long memory and we remember his criticisms about Jeter as well. Considering the type of year that Jeter has had, it just amplified A-Rod's difficulties. A-Rod flourished on teams where there was no real pressure, Jeter performs best in big spots. So another reason would be that we love Jeter more than we could ever LIKE A-Rod.
And to the guy who said that A-Rod will be gone: he's got a no-trade clause in his contract and his ego is too big to waive it and play in another town. To accept the trade would be accepting that he pretty much failed in NY.

a rod is the greatest player of our era and maybe all time! hes superman and even superman was human sometimes! the fans want 3 for 4 and 2 homers every night! hes almost perfect and thus hes the most persecuted player in the game! if fans pay the cash they can boo arod just has to block it out and win the world series and all will be fine!

I don't personally boo him, but with the amount of money he makes, and the protection around him in the sickest line-up in baseball, he should easily be leading the league in RBI and I can see why some people do. That said, I still think he is one of the best in the game all around, but he needs to do some serious damage come october, if he's really a super-star

I find it personally irresponsible to boo an athlete. Yes, we consumers pay to go see sporting events. That's it, nothing else! We can't throw things, we can't use foul or obscene language toward ANYONE! So what gives people the right to boo an athlete? It also doesn't matter how much the athlete makes in a season either!

I don't think any of the people that answered this question understand baseball. READ HIS NUMBERS. There's NO reason to boo this guy. You'd be hard pressed to name 10 guys in MLB with better numbers. Furthermore, there are no Michael Jordans in baseball. If you don't understand that you don't understand baseball.

The guy above sums it, I boo him because he's supposed to be the baseball equivalent of Jordan, but he was playing like Luis Sojo for some time.

I cannot stand him because he cannot hit against the red sox or any other good team but if he does we are already losing 7-1 and he hits a solo shot. 2nd he is on fire w/ the likes of texas, KC, tampa bay,and cleveland that is why I boo him. MR. NON-CLUTCH
