A decade ago to learn English, you had to attend costly English classes or purchase course material like tapes and books. Now you can learn English for free from the comfort of your home using the internet. The BBC and the British Council offer a number of online courses which teach written and spoken English. You can also improve your English by watching television programs and reading English newspapers. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/qnzpt

To learn english is more easy than learn portuguese. I am brazilian and some months ago I was teaching my husband to speak it. And guess?? he had very difficult to understand the structure of portuguese. I think the best form to learn english is the contact with the language. To speak, to write and read every day will help you very much.

Find a school near you. Go to the school and see if you can find an English teacher to give you tuition. They may even suggest some good books or give you the name of the series of books that they are using at the school. At the school they may have list of qualified teachers who give tuition.
Go on Internet and look for self study materials. Go to library and find the same on the self.

English is best learned by phonics. There are learning phonics books and tapes that you can purchase. Try searching on line.
It teaches you the sounds that letters of the alphabet make. Once you know how they work, you can sound out any English word.

Try making it a habit to read the newspaper daily. This is one best way to improve yourself. Reading sory books of your interest will also help. Nake it a point to speak in english and never have the fear of people laughing at your mistakes made.
