Because nurses attend to clinical needs, not cleaning. If you'd suggested hiring them as cleaners, the joke would have worked.

i see were ur coming from, when i had an operation, a nurse wanted to look at the operation site and also touch it but sha did not wash her hands or wear gloves, i ofcos asked her to wash her hands and she had the guts to look offended.
