Imagine the whole world hears your thoughts telepathically.
From the start of this telepathic blunder, you once loved someone obsessively in mind, and had a variety of unpleasant results.
Now, you know it's wrong to commit your mind to others, because you know if you're going to love, you'll obsess, because your mind is that kind.
What do you do? Do you throw away love, or eros affection? How do you admire people without seeming too obsessive?
Just for clarity, I don't love anyone now romantically. I've begun to think I'll never be able to ever again.

Look, your just down, and you have had some bad times, but times cant always be bad, there is always a turning point. You sound like a really great person who is a deep thinker. The problem is, you think TOO much. You have to sometimes just do things, risk a little have some fun. Its not a bad thing to think, but sooner or later you will realize that you have spent too much time thinking about things and less time doing things. As far as admiring somebody, im not sure you your referring to "like" but if you like somebody you have to find out if they are interested, and if they are not you have to as quickly as possible gut your feelings towards them in the liking sense and just be friends, and there is nothing wrong with being friends because friends will usually introduce you to their friends and try and set you up. Everyday life will bring you something new, you just have to stick around a take life one day at a time. Love will come when your not looking for it, thats what happened to me. Good luck to you, and when you do look for somebody, make sure they know how to make you smile no matter what mood your in.

Why is everyone so mean here? You are not a loser- just a bit sad and disappointed....How do you admire people without seeming too obsessive? Admire them from far...then come closer if it seems appropriate or wanted ... the object of your affection usually will give you a sign- a look.. a smile....don't harass people with phone calls...call once or twice...that's it...if they don't return your call- move on...Love is not sadness...you just didn't meet your right match, yet. Patience, patience, patience....you will fall in love again when you least expect it.

You never throw love away, it's too precious.
There often seems a thin (easily crossable) line between admiration & obsession.
The only answer to that is to admire many different people for a diverse range of qualities.

I would go see a shrink to stop myself from obsessing over people. It's a condition of the mind that can be worked on.

You love must be unselfish. You can admire, but you must pick the qualities from the person that you are admiring that you appreciate, and emulate only those qualities. Be happy when they are happy, even if this happiness does not include you.
