Has to be John Prescott, he really knew how to deal with a protester during the 2001 campaign.
That incident showed how effective the media management of Labour is, that was the same day some woman managed to get in the face of Tony Blair and ask him questions he couldn't answer. o in order to take the spotlight away from Tony he sent John Prescott out to punch somebody!!!! Clever dealings I'd say!!!

Depends on what you mean by character.
Peter Hain (Wales and Northern Ireland Secretary) is one of the most interesting people to talk to, as he spent his youth growing up in Apartheid South Africa, and was arrested in the UK on numerous occasions for his anti-Apartheid protests.
People may mock John Prescott, but how many of you would, as John and Pauline Prescott did, open their house to homeless people, help them to get "back on their feet", and maintain an open-door policy for them to return?
Gordon Brown also has a multi-faceted character, having lost the sight in one eye as a teenager, nearly lost the sight in the other eye a number of years later, and having endured the death of his 10 day old daughter.
I am also impressed by Hilary Benn (International Development); he has, it seems without question, earned the respect of governments in the developing world, and Non-Governmental Organisations working in the developing world, for his passion and commitment to ending the blight of worldwide poverty. His decision this week to stand-up to the Bush-accolyte Paul Wolfowitz at the World Bank is highly commendable.

Without a doubt, Tony Blair.
All this aggro going on now is about saving the careers of these ****-stirrers.
Theirs is self interest - -all about trying to win the forthcoming elections.
