Everyone says they stayed with him/her for the kids ...but why do that..If you show your children enogh love , you don't need to stay together in a relationship thats going nowhere...It's your life too and staying together for the kids in most cases is doing more harm than good because if you aren't getting along the kids can hear it or sense it and still be unhappy ..So if you don't want to be with him or her then leave but make sure you have visiting rights and that you keep in touch with the kids..That way you are happy and the kids are happy

You should never stay in a relationship just for a child. Children grow up and move on with their own lives. If you had left 7 years ago you could still have been a good dad and your child would still have been happy. Its far more healthy to bring children up in a happy environment.

thats good because instead of leaving when the child was young and wouldnt remember youve left it till now, when "the kid" will remember everything. why is seven the age to do it anyway, you say it like you purposely waited till they were seven years old. do you only raise your kids for 7 years, us mothers do it for the next 10, 15 or 20 years, but hey you got your life back well done.

What a pity you didn't put more into your relationship. You know, try to improve your life with your girlfriend, etc etc.
And what a pity that people don't sort out their love lives before they have children. I hope your child is happy that you've left. I doubt it.

So what, you just used this poor girl for seven years? And never truly loved her? Did you still sleep with her even though you didn't love her? Your slack mate, really slack... And men wonder why women turn lesbian...

it's true that life's too short, but your 7 years was not wasted because you had done it for your child. congratulations on your freedom.

I'm in the same situation and i too feel free and i'm so much happier! It's alot more work on my own, but its so worth it! Aslong as your still providing for your child and seeing him/her on a regular basis, then you should do what you please.
