When you said global enterprise I think you are referring to Multi National Companies ( MNC)
Here merits are more compared to demerits.
The first and fore most point on any MNC agenda will be how to generate maximum profit with minimum investment and even more minimum social commitment.
Most of the MNC's who are operating in India are here because of easy availability of cheap and skilled man power along with favourable Govt policies that encourage their entry in to Indian Market.
The people who work for these companies are paid handsomely with lot of facilities thrown in .
By Indian standards it is very good but for the companies what they are paying you is peanuts by their standards.
One major demerit in this system is firing a person is much easier compared to hiring because of which attrition rate is high among middle management level jobs.
