tank filter go by gallons not feet. Determine the gallon size and go to a knowlegeble pet shop and get a filtration system. Don't go to small, you can always go for a larger one and turn down the flow. Make sure the water filters for at least a day or so before you add fish.

You want a filter that mover 10 gallons per hour for every gallon of tank. If your tank dimensions are
48 1/4 x 12 3/4 x 12 7/8 = 33 gallons
48 1/4 x 12 3/4 x 16 7/8 = 40 gallons
48 1/4 x 12 3/4 x 19 = 45 gallons
48 1/4 x 12 3/4 x 21 = 55 gallons
48 3/8 x 12 7/8 x 23 7/8 = 60 gallons
A
