It's sad when other people are like that but in my opinion, I'm not proud because of Manny Pacquiao and the other famous people. I'm proud to be a Filipino, because I grew up there. And Philippines just have something that other places doesn't have. Maybe they comment like that to let other people know that Manny Pacquiao or Jessica Sanchez are from the Philippines and that they should be proud to be a Filipino.

I'm proud being a Filipino i love everything about this country the simpleness of life, the people, the culture and the traditions.
I'm proud of how my parents taught us the good values, opened our eyes to the bad side of being a Filipino, but it's what makes us fight for what we believe and respect for traditions that have been passed from generations to generations

Definitely!

Iam proud that Filipinos have close family ties, they help each other out as much as they can. Filipino parents takes good care of their children (most!) and Filipino children takes care of their parents in return (most). They dont put them in care homes.

Im proud that the filipinos are still on the "conservative" side. Men are polite and women are reserved.

Overseas, Iam proud to say that Filipinos work way better than other nationalities, filipinos speak and understand english better and Filipinos are hardworkers.

I am a Filipino and I am proud to be a Filipino. We Filipinos have so many things to be proud of. Here are just a few of those things.

1. We can adapt and thrive wherever we are in the world.
2. We have beautiful faces. Our faces are beautiful because the warmth and depth of our soul and spirit bring light to our eyes.
3. Despite the poverty and the political instability and the adversity that exists in our country, we can still find a reason to smile and laugh.
4. We have tightly-knit family systems. We can always count on the support of the family whenever things go wrong for us.
5. We make very loyal and very supportive friends.
6. Our country is beautiful.
7. We have a very low suicide rate in the Philippines -- remarkable, given the extent of poverty here.

I am proud to be a Filipino. Filipinos have a lot of reasons to be proud of their country and themselves.

EDSA '86. A bloodless revolution. Jose Rizal would have been happy to see that.

Adaptability - put a Filipino anywhere and they'll adapt to their environment.

The ability to see humour inspite of everything.

Love of life. Filipino live their life to the fullest inspite of the poverty that surrounds them.

Hospitality - will give their best food to visitor even if they don't eat for a long time.

Sacrifice - they'll sacrifice everything for the sake of their children's future.

Wherever they are, whatever they are, the Filipino always try to make a Filipino community even at the ends of the earth.

Not all Filipinos are liars, nor cheaters, Filipinos live the way they alone knows how.

I'm proud of being Filipino, and we all should. Because of what our culture has gone through, and like what others said, we tend to adapt to any environment easily. I'am also very proud of our revolutionary father, Jose Rizal (I cant even list the accomplishments this man has done for us), and Lapu Lapu from my homeland Cebu, who stood up to the Portugues invader, Magellan. (Vivas Las Filipinas!) Well nowadays I cant even tell whos Filipino and whos not. Hah, I'm also proud of how many dialics we have, which incorporates so many other roots such as Spanish, Malays, Tongans, etc. Theres so many things to be proud of being a Filipino!

I'm proud of:

-My spanish roots (great great grandpa was a spanish counsellor)
-The very close family relationships
-The very beautiful women, the very pretty ones look like a mix between Spanish, Chinese & American
-The fact that filipinos always smile no matter what
-The nice hot and humid weather and the beautiful sunsets

There's more but it would take up 10 pages if I were to write it all up.

the beautiful islands. one just has to come here and see for themselves.

close family ties--even if the parents are old, they can stay with any of their children who are more than willing to accommodate them.

filipinos also love music. that's why you're gonna hear news about someone getting killed over the song "my way" lol. kidding aside, you'll find any house with a magic sing or if there isn't any, there's always the guitar and the people start singing.

the way people can bounce back from adversities---natural calamities, coup attempts, the aptly called "trapos" for traditional politicians in the government, the works. though it might be quite shocking for some, they still find the time to smile, laugh and wave behind the reporter while he or she is delivering the news. maybe that's why there isn't much need for psychiatrists. ;-)

As Filipinos, we have a lot to be proud of. It is us who started the "people power" - a bloodless revolution to topple a dictator.
We are talented people - proofs are we have champions who excelled in music, sports, arts and many other endeavor. We have the likes of Lea Salonga, Efren Reyes, Paeng Nepumuceno and a lot more who are achievers and excelled in their fields of endeavors.

There's really so much to be proud of for Filipinos.
