like they're not skipping an intersection just those places where there's an onramp and then right after it there's an offramp. just wondering.

no they don't skip any intersections. like in the time it takes you to blink twice they've gotten on and off the expressway. and they never get the speed up to expressway standards before they're off the expressway again.

i'd like to rephrase my question. why do they get on the expressway if they're not avoiding an intersection and the length they stay on the expressway is like the length of 10 or 15 cars? i don't know what other ways to explain sorry!!

this isn't chatting i'm just trying to word my question properly: you know how the expressway goes up so you can drive over the interesections, and then it swoops down for the onramp and for the offramp and then it goes up again for an intersection? and the onramp and the offramp are like really close together? (rethinking it they're way less apart than 10 car lengths) why would someone just drive a few car lengths on the expressway and then get off? the whole time going the same speed they would have if they weren't on the expressway bcuz they don't have enough time to speed up before they're back off the expressway again?

they think that it is "faster"
They are an unnecessary hazard when they do this, thats why anyone should care.

I've never seen somebody do it in an extreme case, unless they don't know where they're going.
I get on the highway to drive about 400 yards, then get off, because it's a lot faster, and the highway is safer than the city roads, because on this particular path, there's a very windy road with blind turns; why mess with it? I know it's faster because I see cars take that route all the time, and I beat them.

I just did it today....for short-cut reasons....avoiding longer wait period on the freeway...best thing to do is get off and enter on the other side of the street ....gain a few minutes. Also, if you are driving on the surface streets there may be too many street lights that are not synchronized so its best to take the freeway--again saving yourself time---especially if you are running late.

How would you know--are you following them? LOL!!! =D
I think the reason people get on the freeway just to take the next exit is the same reason people get on Yahoo! Answers just to get the daily 1 point for loggin on--then quickly logging off. =D

Because its the quickest and/or easiest way to get from point A to point B. I use the freeway to get to my boys house...on one exit...of at the next...becuase thats the only road that joins the roads i need to use

The place I do it saves me 20 minutes on surface streets by just taking one freeway exit.

It's called avoiding heavy intersections and local police.
That's why I do it.

It might be quicker. Also, most of the time, when I do it, i bypass a lot of traffic lights.
