Yes its possiable and don't be surprised to find you have it some day as well... It is usually just a small bacterial infection caused by all the sweating going on down there.. Remember we keep those places covered up all day.. Or maybe it is thwe opposite and she is maybe letting a few too many people down there and has maybe gotten the dreaded crabs.. They are usually visable and can be cured with an over the counter remedi baught at the drug store... Now if it is feminine itching or ointernal she will need to get the right product to help her out so don't be embarassed to ask the pharmacist.. Go with her for support... If it is external ther are also an array of products which will help.. I suggest using a powder based product, because a past or lotion is just adding more moisture and may not be as effective.. The key is to stay clean down there.. use soap and water, make sure you rinse good. If you bathe... Re rinse with some clean water out of thd tap.. Bath water is full of bacteria.. Now anothr thin is to use powder. there ar many female powder products on the market.. Use it after every bath and maybe a few times in the day whan you , or she starts to get that wet or sweaty feeling. Feminine hygene is very important and will and can help prevent serious problems down the road.. Also men will love to see their women take such good care of their privates.. And being a man, I practice what I preach.... I woud never want any women getting a whif of my sour ****.. And they won't because I keep it cleaner than my hands... Now remember if the itch persists, your friend should see her obgyn asap!!

Jock itch, also known as tinea cruris, is a fungal infection of the skin in the groin. The warm, moist environment is the perfect place for the fungus to grow. Anything that enhances that environment puts the person at risk of getting jock itch. Therefore, wearing sweaty, wet clothing in the summer time or wearing several layers of clothing in the wintertime causes an increased incidence of jock itch. Men are affected more often than women.

I've never thought of it as jock itch, but my daughter developed a rash down there. Jock itch is a type of fungus or rash brought on by sweat and a jock strap that hasn't been washed for several days. I guess if a jock strap can get nasty, panties can get nasty. Would you call it panty itch?!
