From the Milpitas area, take 880 North to the Dumbarton Bridge
Cross the bridge and follow the signs to University Ave
You will stay on University Ave (crossing the 101 Highway)
and head up to El Camino (there will be signs to follow)
The campus is beautiful, quite large and try to avoid visiting on a day when there is a football game

Normally, you'd take take I-680 South, then merge onto U.S. 101 North toward in San Jose.

If it's rush hour, I would bypass San Jose and take Highway 237 West to U.S. 101 North. Although Highway 237 is a surface street, it's often faster than the freeway if there's heavy traffic.

The Stanford Univ. exit is well signposted.

Get on US 101 Northbound (towards San Francisco) and take the University Avenue exit to the West. Cross El Camino Real and there you are. You should be able to see Hoover Tower!

Take 101 and get off at Palo Alto.

p.s. make sure you visit Hot Pot City in Milpitas. Fun place to eat and great value for the money.
