After I read it I got a t-shirt that said "Do I Dare Disturb the Universe." What did everyone think of the book?

I thought it was great. I loved the struggle of the main character in his imposed protest, and the ending was amazing...funny, though, I never have read the sequel, even though I've wanted to, and even though I enjoyed the first one so much.

I remember reading it in high school (many years ago). I read it because I'd read an article that it was being banned from high school libraries in my area...they apparently wanted their students to learn but not think for themselves. Of course, you tell me not to read something and I'm immediately going to my nearest bookstore to buy it then pass it around to my friends. Ironically, if they hadn't made such a fuss, I would probably never have heard of it. That's what people who promote censorship never understand.
Ah, but you asked what I thought of the book... I liked it because I felt I had a good deal in common with the protesting students.

No, but I did read The Milagro Beanfield War. Does that count?
