Ridge Back. 21 gears.
The bike is an alloy hybrid (a cross between a mountainbike and a tourer)

Specialized Crossroads. 700c tires, but you can buy the Nimbus tires, which have enough tread to go off road, yet still low profile to take on road rides. It is under a comfort bike classification. Has a fully adjustable stem, quick release, and shimano brakes/drive train. Lifetime warranty on frame. Check it out at specialized.com good luck!

Raleigh Chopper. Planet gears, back-pedal brake. The finest of the finest and of the most reliable. Thick wheels gives good shock absorption.
