a 2. it's just skin, no nerve endings or such. the actual piercing didnt hurt. it's literally a pinch... having my cartiledge hurt more. the only discomfort i felt (discomfort, not pain), is when they put the jewerly in. the bar they pierce you with is striaght, but the bar is banana shaped, so when they put in the curved bar, it is uncomfortable until the skin around it stretches. just make sure you don't play with the piercing until it is healed, many infections occur when people play with the jewerly... and spray bactine on it for the first 2 weeks. good luck!

It really depends on who you get to do it. The first time I had mine done it was a 4. I took it out when I got pregnant, had it re-pierced after that and it was a 1. If you are in CA I can tell you where I went both times. My other piercings include 5 in each ear, nose. I also had a rather large tattoo done, that was a 6 on the pain scale!

i did it myself, so i assume that professionally would hurt less. i'd say about a 5. i have a high threshold for pain. i've had the little part of the inside of my ears pierced, hurt more than any others, nipples, tongue. belly button is painful but not too bad. be careful after when gettin dressed and stuff, catching it hurts like hell.
good luck!

2. It smarts for about a second, enough to make you take a deep breath, and that's it. Don't worry about it.
