You are probably feeding too much. Guppies are easily affect by poor water quality. Your babies aren't being affected yet because they haven't been exposed to the water as long. Increase then number of water changes and decrease the amount of food you are putting in. Salt for freshwater aquariums is a good idea to add as it will protect the fish from the other problems (like ich and dropsy) associated with overfeeding.

I would first ask how many gallon tank do u have and how many fish are in it? Generally, it is recommended 1 fish per gallon of water. I would also stand behind that even for the small guppies, as they pee very high amounts of ammonia into the water, due to the fact that they actually do drink copious amounts of the tank water.
Were there any any signs of broken fin edges or discolorations in the ones that u lost?
I started out 13 years ago going to Walmart (when they still had fish lol) and was looking for fancies but they only had feeders so I got 2 females & 1 male free. They reproduced and kept a cycle of continuois fish for me in my 10 gallon Hexagon tank for 7-8 years before I made the mistake of buying a new fancy male who infected and killed the whole tank with ICK!!
Good Luck!

there are a few reasons why they could be dying, a fungus infection or a parasites called ick. you can get the medicine to treat both at any pet store but its cheaper at walmart if for have one near by. try cleaning the tank and before you fill it back up boil the water and let it cool for a hour or 2 in case its something in the water. also if you have gold fish in the tank with them that can cause them to die. i dont know why it just does. ive raised fish for over 20 years and usually a guppies is a hardy fish that lives a pretty long time. also a good thing to use is the stuff you they keep Minos in you can get it at any bait store it will turn the water blue for about 48 hours but it does all kinds of fish a world of good

that information is meaningless, without knowing how many guppies you have. if you had one and it died ... or if you had 1,000 and one died.

talk to a store that sells fish and ask them, or see a veterinarian and ask her
