I discriminate against gays all the time. I live in MA and I see people in their cars with gay stickers. I laugh and yell at them. It's a continuing source of amusement for me. The funniest thing is they are gay so you know the only thing they will do is get smug.

The 14th Amendment prohibits discrimination of any kind, under the Equal Protection clause.

However, since sexual orientation is not a suspect class, only the most blatant and irrational forms of discrimination are actually prohibited. In other words, as long as the discrimination can be found to serve some legitimate goal by any rational means, then the discrimination will be found to be valid under the Constitution. Which in effect means there is very little protection available.

As noted above, some states and a few state constitutions set higher standards, and do prohibit such discrimination. But not at the federal level.

No federal law protects persons from discrimination based on sexual orientation, but the Supreme Court held in Bragdon v. Abbott (1998) that HIV-positive persons are protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act and cannot be discriminated against in places of public accommodation, including dental and medical offices, as well as in employment and public services.

There is none. Some states and/or cities have laws prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation. Federal laws only prohibit discrimination based on race, color, creed, sex, national origin, age, and disability.
