I’m not exactly an animal expert but I’ve seen enough films and television to know chimps and horses and parrots and dogs are trainable enough to respond to written scenes for them.

But raccoons? I always assumed they were to wild by nature to be trainable. And even if you could train them somewhat wouldn't they still be too unpredictable to trust to follow instructions?

The raccoon having a tug of war with Marin over her wedding dress on ‘Men In Trees’ tonight was pretty damn funny. How did they get the raccoon to respond like that?

raccoons are bright but believe me they film those things for days and cut this and that in and out of it and then do some computer magic to make these things look good. they are rather rambunctious characters,

Raccoons can be trained but it seems like it only lasts for awhile. I know a few people who have raised them from babies but had to release them because they turned on them. I'm not sure if they all will do this but the ones I've seen have.

I used to have a raccoon in my yard and eventually I had it trained to come up to me whenever it saw me with grocery bags...when he would come to me I would give him a snack. I am sure that with time and effort they can be trained to do many a things.

I have a friend that has a pet raccoon. She's had her from the time she was a baby. (her mother was killed), and she has never had any problems. She trained it like you would a cat, and it acts just like one.
