Most likely they came in as caterpillars and went through pupa stage in your room. When they emerged as butterflies, you noticed them! You may end up finding 2 empty crystallises somewhere in your room someday...

It is not a phenomenon. if you have any plant in your house, it might be the source of your 2 insects. A butterfly cycle is a very quick cycle. A larva develops a cocoon around itself and after ONLY two days, it develops into a butterfly. Check if you have any plants with larvae on it and you will have the answer to your question.

Well there is the possibilty that they dont need to come in your window, there is also things called doors and maybe thats how they got in.

maybe their in the room for a day or two or maybe three and they are hiding so u cant see them
