Hmm..... there are no flexible rulers? I've seen some. I don't remember where but I have. Perhaps at the Korean stationery stores like Morning Glory or Artbox if you live in Los Angeles, or can find some Korean stationery store where you live. They also have folding rulers. But it might be difficult to find something not so girly and cutesy for you.

There are also thin steel rulers that bend - not fold - so they can be put in a bag, reasonably of course. These can be found at an art supply store.

Otherwise, carry your rulers in a pencil box, or get those cutting mats (that you'd use to cut paper with an exacto-blade) that have measurements on them but are almost letter-size or a variation of them. They carry those things in the art supply stores too.Those you can stick inside a notebook.
