Find the rule that relates the x and y coordinates in each ordered pair of this set: {(-3,2), (-2,0), (-1,0), (1,6), (2,12),...}. The x coordinate in the set is always the first element in every ordered pair and the y coordinate is always the second element in every ordered pair.
For example, in this set: {(1,3), (2,4), (3,5), (4,6), (5,7),...}, it is clear that the second element can be obtained by adding 2 to the first element so the equation is: x+2=y.

The general rule is:

y = a + bx + cx^2 +dx^3 + ex^4

2 = a-3b+9c-27d+81e
0 = a-2b+4c- 8d+16e
0 = a-b+c-d+e=a-3+1, a=2
6 = a+b+c+d+e
12 = a+2b+4c+8d+16e

2=-b+5c-35d+65e
0=-b+3c-7d+15e
12=4b-16d, 3=b-4d
6=2b+2d, 3=b+d
b=3, d=0
2=-3+5c+65e, 5=5c+65e
0=-3+3c+15e, 3=3c+15e
c=1,e=0

y=2+3x+x^2

2-9+9=2
2-6+4=0
2-3+1=0
2+3+1=6
2+6+4=12

theres a formula---

y-y1/x-x1=y2-y1/x2-x1.

put the values and u get the answer.

like:--y-2/x+3=0-2/-2+3

(y-2)(1)=(-2)(x+3)

y-2=-2x-6

y=2x-4.....................answers
