You're question so general, but "generally speaking," if you really, really know you will be fired, it is better to quit and not have it on record that you were fired. That sort of gives you control of the situation. I'm really sorry you are in such a bad position. I wish you the best in finding a better job environment the next time around!

You may as well wait to get fired because when your quit your job you do not qualify for unemployment insurance. Only quit if you have another job lined up. If not either line one up and then quit or get fired.

If you are going to quit, find another job before you do. I would only wait to be fired if you can get severance or unemployment. Even if you plan to wait until they fire you, start looking for another job now.

It is better to quit than get fired. Getting fired will not be to your advantage when applying for another job.

Do you qualify for unemployment? If so, wait to get fired. In the mean time, look for a new job. You would rather be employed, than unemployed. It is easier to pay the bills.

If you are getting let go for any reason other than lack of work, you will be ineligible for unemployment. Go out gracefully; submit your resignation and don't burn your bridges. You never know what may happen in the future.
