Choose a profession you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life.
-Confucious
I would much rather be poor and enjoy my work than rich and feeling like a slave: much!

Try to choose a profession you love. If you can't choose a profession you love, find opportunities within your job assignments where you can use your best skills. For instance, I aspired to a high paying management job but I was surrounded by many mean-spirited people. My life goals at the time required I stay in that job, so I focussed on assignments where I could use my writing skills, because for me, that was fun. Sometimes you are in a place in your life when you need the money, so that is the driving force, but never relegate yourself to a job or profession you hate because it will suck the soul right out of you.

Both
I do a job which I enjoy but I had to work to be good at it so I can be where I am.
I found a niche that I do well and don't mind the crazy hours or the short notice that is needed, there is always a downside to all jobs but if you keep hope and keep trying you will find a job you do well

IMHO, always choose what you love to do over what it pays. It's a minimum of a third of your life - do you really want to spend it dreading waking up in the morning? And most people who do what they love get pretty good at it; other rewards (like promotions and raises) often follow from that.

A little of both!! if you have a high wage but you wake up in anguish everyday cause you hate you job or you love you job but don't make enough to do any thing it's just not worth it... I would rather have a happy medium...

No salary is worth it if you can't stand the work. Short term you might be able to pull it off, but long term you will just find it increasingly difficult to tolerate.

i beleive that you have to be able to put up with the job and like it for one. also that it better have a decent pay if not forget them. you don't want to be stressing or going nuts. it's not good for you so get a job that you know is right for you.
