These contraptions are not the safest or best way to obtain a healthy look!
In answer to your question-The movie is Just a Movie!
Yes! with Prolonged exposure to a Sunbed you will Burn(Maybe Not 2ND or 3rd degree-but there may be a SUPER tanning bed out there than could achieve such damage to the skin-WITH EXCESSIVE EXPOSURE!)

Consider Spray tanning, it's by far the safest option. Or if you must lie on a commercial tanning bed-FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS,MAKE SURE THE ADVICE YOU ARE GIVEN BY THE OWNERS IS SENSIBLE.

The sun is great! Treat it with respect and it will provide you with a healthy colour!!

Yes, But not because of being locked in the only way you can get that severe of a burn is if the acrylic in the bed is cracked or broken open in any place especially if there is a facial tanning part on the bed they carry higher uv rays than the other bulbs but when trying tanning make sure you go somewhere where they will take the time to answer all your questions then you know they will take the time to care for people and perform daily maintenaince checks on thier beds.

If you're burned, the worst thing you could do is go back and try tanning again lol.. What until the burn has turned to a tan and then go again. The reason you probably burned the second time is because you didn't wait long enough between tans.

Thats right. Listen to the movie. Stay out of tanning beds. You could die.

Yes It is strong radiation to achieve an effect quickly.
I advise against using that as I have one sun cancer cut out and the doctor says there will be more, please protect your skin.
However the tanning place would have to be totally irresponsible to do burn anyone

Yes, you can. In fact, most medical professionals strongly advise against the use of tanning beds, and even those who use them regularly admit that they can be dangerous if misused.

you think what happened in that stupid movie could actually happen? you could possibly get second degree burns if you stay in too long on too high of a setting. you wouldn't get third degree burns because you couldn't get "locked in" one.

Well, yeah, you can get burned! That's what they do! They stimulate the sun's rays! I'm not sure they can burn you to death, but they can definitely burn you.
