Hi CJ. Well it looks like you got your answer about ROTFLMAO and LMAO so I don't have to help you out there. But I am also a Grandma of 4 in her late sixties. My husband and I are both self taught when it comes to computers and the Internet and as a matter of fact, I currently teach computers to Seniors at the local Senior center and I love it. So anytime you want to ask a question you can post it right here in YA and I'll try to be here for you or you can contact me directly by clicking on my Avatar and then clicking email Gelato Crazy. In the meantime, have a blast surfing the Internet.

Hi!
It's cool for grandmas and grandpas to learn new technology and to use the internet :) Way to go!!

As for the two terms you were asking, they are abbreviations for two phrases which sounds quite crude. Hope you are not offended:

LMAO means Laugh My A** Off
and
ROTFLMAO means Rolling On The Floor Laughing My A** Off

Basically, it means the person is laughing.
You can also get the meaning by searching for these two terms from www.google.com .

Good luck and hope you have fun surfing! :)
