I hardly EVER watch the news...it is depressing!!!...God forbid they told some good news that I am sure happens all over the world, but that isn't exciting enough it seems these days...5 car pile up and 10 people die is more news worthy these days....

sensationalism sells. There is way more good news to report than bad. It's also sad that so many drama shows and best selling novels are about crime and illicit sexuality. We just live in culture that's fascinated by crime. You would even think that the criminals could almost be called heros for inspiring blockbuster films and TV shows. Oh wait, we have done that, though the criminals were from long ago they were still criminals--i.e. Jesse James, Dillinger..etc.
