In the "Cotton Club (1984)" Laurence Fishburne had a small roll playing a true life gangster by the name of Bumpy Johnson. 13 years later Laurence got the opportunity to play Bumpy once again in "Hoodlum" a full feature film that focused strictly on the life of Bumpy Johnson and Dutch Schultz.

Superman movies 1. 2. and 3, Christopher Reeves played superman and then a scientist in the TV series, Smallville, which has Clark Kent as a teen. Christopher Reeves last TV performance. He was awesome.
The lady that played Lois Lane, Clark's long time girlfriend in Superman movies 1, 2, and 3, played a part a couple of times on Smallville. She was murdered by the only other being from Krypton on Earth besides Clark.
Old TV series, Lost in Space, about family in space and space ship gets lost. Dad, mom, son, daughter, pilot, evil doctor and robot were all together.
Movie from a few years ago, Lost In Space, stared mom from original shows as the scientist on new movie. Son, Will, placed different wardrobe and faces on her with his I-Pod thingie.
Alot more of these great remakes have some of the original cast playing bit parts.
I get the concept, just cant remember the names this time of morning...

Does this count? In the 1960's film "the Birds" Suzanne Pleshette played Veronica Cartwright's school teacher. Many years later on the show "Will & Grace" Suzanne Pleshette (Karen's mom) & Veronica Cartwright (Jack's mom) were in a Thanksgiving episode which featured a turkey dinner. A turkey's a bird, right?

I get what you're doing but I'm not that into movies that I could even come close. But in The Hunt For Red October, Sam Neil dreams on retiring in Montana on a ranch but dies before he can. Then in the Horse Whisperer he ends up retiring on a ranch in Montana.
