I have been told that an essential strategy to beating Sephiroth is to use the "glide" ability. I'm at level 88 now, and I've yet to see the ability be offered to me. How much longer must I level up until I can activate it?

According to the BradyGames guide, you earn the Glide ability as part of the Final Form, which you can gain once you reach the World That Never Was.

"After completing the event at Memory's Skyscraper, you aquire the ability to learn the Final Form. This does not occur automatically as with the other forms. Instead it occurs randomly when you use any of the other Forms in battle (sort of like Anti Form). The main difference, however, is thta once you trigger the Final Form, you learn it for good and can choose it on the Drive menu like a normal Drive Form"

There are 4 levels to Glide: LV1, LV2, LV3 and MAX.
Final Form only gains experience with the destruction of Nobodies.

So make sure that you've triggered the Memory's Skyscraper event in the World that Never Was, and keep fighting using Valor and Wisdom forms and eventually randomly Final Form will appear. once you get it, then you can learn it, and gain XP in it, to build up the Glide ability.

one site suggests changing form in front of a Heartless as a better way to randomly trigger into Final Form. some others suggest going to the Colliseum.

if the probability of triggering Final Form is similar to the probability of randomly getting the Anti Form, the key is to keep changing forms, which means finding ways to quickly replenish your Drive gauge - such as entering the 4th Underworld Tournament, which will max out your drive gauge, and then quit out of it - your drive gauge will stay at max. go find a fight and change forms!

You can only get the glide ability outside of Final Form by, well, levelling up Final Form. While in Final Form, you'll receive experience for each Nobody you defeat. The easiest place to train Final Form would be in Naught's Skyway, in The Castle that Never Was. Once you level it up to a certain extent, you'll obtain that ability for outside use.

You have to level up your forms not your accutal charater all
though being level 88 will greatly help when you fight him hes not
an easy charter if you don't have the stradagy guide i would search for one on the internet i know you have go into your form
and kill a certain amount of enemys to level up but each form
has to kill different enemys to level up. I believe you need to level up your final form to get the ability and you have to kill the heartless to level up.

like it has already been said, you do need final form. secondly, I never used glide to beat him. I used reflect magic. when he hits me, it goes back on him, and it really does help to wear him down faster.
