At a technology conference last week, Citigroup analyst Mark Mahaney made a subtle linguistic switch, calling the company a "one-trick stallion." A rally means stocks going up in value.

Riding means that it has been going up for the entire time.

So, it means that the stock went up for 4 days in a row. (Citi didn't, it dropped today).

"riding" in this context refers to the notion that "a rising tide lifts all ships" . In other words, the entire stock market was going up for 4 days, and google stock went up along with it - riding along - as opposed to moving up of its own accord, possibly against the general market direction.
