And how many work days are there in a week? I heard there are six of them now, but there will be five soon. Is that true?

It depends on the type of job and the employer. Majority of companies are working 8 hours a day and 6 days a week. Some companies are working five and half days a week and few are working five days.

Friday is the weekend in Dubai. The working hours and days are different if you are working in the hospitality industry, hospitals etc.

Typical working hours are from 7.30-8 AM to 3.30-4 PM which comes around 8 hours per day.

However in some government sectors it can be from 7.30 AM to 1.30 PM or 2 PM but it depends on where and what you do.

Example you work in the bank (Private sector) and front desk, like cashier/teller you get to leave in the afternoon, but back office you go till around 4 PM

and we have 5 working days in a week but some private sector banks usually work for 6 days (Back office mainly)

And before Thursday and Friday were the official weekend (Like Saturday and Sunday) but now it has been changed to Friday and Saturday.

And Friday is our "Holy Day"

I hope that was helpful ^_^
