I say forget the age thing as its all in the mind. People change careers in their forties and fifties all the time so why not take up guitar playing in your twenties.

I expect you'll get to very good standard by the time your thirty. You just need perseverance, dedication and practice. Who knows you could be an absolute natural!

Good luck!

Age is NO restriction, if you really want to learn something : I personally know a lady who began taking her piano lessons when she was already over 40 - and now, at 55, she has been giving highly acclaimed public performances for over 7 years.
...If you have the will and wish to really learn to play the guitar very well, you will surely succeed.

Ringo couldn't read music or really play that well when he joined the Beatles. And Clapton is like 60 and he still play amazing.

It's funny you should ask this I was thinking the same thing yesterday and I'm only 21! You definetely should or else you'll ask yourself the same question when your 37.

it prolly would have been better to start sooner so you could build up your chops and calluses, but you still have many years ahead of you to practice and get better so go for it. Just set a few hours a day to practice and you should be fine.
