Thursday I am going to the hospital and they are going to place a device in me for "cervical ripening" and then Friday they are going to give me the medicine that induces the labor, well the question is, what is it going to feel like? This is my first child so I am like really nervous.

OMGosh get ready cuz u are fixin to have the worst cramps of ur life and lots of pressure. I had induced labor and i handled it for a while but i started to become stressed out and so did my baby's heart beat so they had put me an epidural..and like magic all the pain had gone in a flash.

When I had my baby in May, they also induced me. First they put a cervical bulb in the night before they were going to induce me to open my cervix. It just felt like menstral cramps, but it didn't hurt. I started having small, not very painful contractions while I had the bulb in also. The next morning they gave me potosan, (I don't know how to spell it) to induce me. At first, I felt fine. The contractions kept getting a little worse over time. Then, like they do with most women, they broke my water and told me I could get an epidural if I wanted, and I said no because it didn't hurt bad yet. Bad move, after they break your water, get the epidural if you are planning on it and they will let you. The contractions REALLY start to hurt after they break your water. But after I had the epidural, I didn't feel a thing. But they had to give it to me twice because they messed up the first time. Anyways, that is my story of being induced, it is a little different for each woman I'm sure. Don't be scared, it's not too bad after the epidural. Good luck to you and congratulations!!!

I heard getting your labor induced hurts worse than going natural... and then I had to have an induction on one of my pregnancies and with my experience it was true...but you need to remember that everyone is different...I know it may not seem like it at the time but no matter how bad it hurts you will have a beautiful baby to hold soon...HOPEFULLY!! Good Luck with everything!!

It's going to feel like really severe menstral cramping thats when they give you the drug that induces you they might first prep you with cervix softner first. I hope this helps.

The first baby is always the most work to bring into the world. Focus on bringing the baby into the world. She/she is well worth whatever you go through.

Let's just say, it's no picnic. It is all worth it when they put that bundle of joy in your arms though. Congrats....

It feels worse than regular labor.
But don't worry, you can get an epidural or other pain meds.
