I mean despite all those security measures on airports, how can so many men take knives alongwith them and take control of flights on sept 11

They were box cutters, not "knives". Those security measures didn't go into place until after 9/11. That's how.

at the time the hijackers were able to get boxcutter knives on the planes becouse of lax Airport security. With relax security they were able to smuggle thier weapons on board the airliners. Now everything is x-rayed and checked by airport security. Also the hijackers planned thier hijackings in advance. Sept 11th was over 2 yrs in planning.

Plastic knives, like shanks, that wasn't detected with metal detectors. And security wasn't as rigorous before 9/11 as it has been after 9/11

i guess security back in 2001 werent as careful and strict, or the terroists were really smart and managed to sneak some in

because they needed to shave so they made an exception and let them carry their blades on-board.
