being sensitive is just because you don't act like a non-sensitive person. being shy is just because you don't act like a confident person, being weak is just because you don't act like a strong person, being smart is just because you don't act like an idiot....etc........it's all about acting.

Start with positive affirmations. What others think of you won't matter so much if you are okay with yourself.
Use your sensitivity to help others. Someone bawling out the waitress? Show a little sympathy and say something like,"Whoa, we've all had bad days, just try to take it easy."
Try to identify triggers. If someone is rude in the shopping line, do you want to cry? Heated arguments with a loved one? Tragic news stories? Long distance commercials? If you're female, PMS? Really try to get to know yourself.
Understand most people react with anger when they are hurt. Remember that the next time you want to cry. And most times angry people think tears are a cop out to get away from the real issues.
Someone said something cruel and they want to pass it off as a joke? Call them on it. There's nothing wrong with standing up for yourself. Feel free to let them know how their statement sounded, but never try to make them validate you. Your best option here is to act, not react. At the very least, they might think twice before shoving their foot in there mouth again!
And every once in a while, have a good cry to let it out. There's nothing wrong with it.
Above all, becoming a heartless b*tch helps no one, especially yourself. You'll be even more miserable! Love yourself, baby!

it's probably a case of low self esteem. Ask yourself why you are hurt so much over what appears to be nothing. You may be over reacting to something really trivial. Try to act as if you were someone else and that could not be hurt by anyone or anything. Don't try to ananlyze everything..just do your own thing, and if someone hurts you, then to hell with them and turn the other cheek. it's a difficult question to answer b/c i don't know your situation, but just act AS IF you were a badass..good luck.

I don't really know what to tell you. People think I have this really tough exterior, but I really don't and I am extremely sensitive. One thing that has sort of helped me is that I stopped caring so much about what others thought of me. That kind of helps you not care so much when people say things to you that would normally affect you, but there are times when you can't help but let stuff get to you...
Good luck.

I've had to become a person that I'm not. I've had to become an actor...playing a game....a player. It's sad. But I've got to protect myself and with my new attitude, I feel more in control. It's not all that satisfying but until I meet my soulmate, I won't let my guard down again.

Be happy.
The hardest time to make someone feel sad is when they are happy. Be happy and sad things will just pass you by.
It sounds silly but it works. You just need a positive frame of mind and that will help you to stay happy.

Have you tried; Sensodyne toothpaste? How's your sense of humor? I would see a therapist if it's too hard to control. Medications might give you some level of comfort / balance.

Well I think that you need to teach yourself not to do that, if it is something you really want to change you can learn new behaviors..it is tough as you get older...but can still be done.
