No single Anti-Spy program will protect you very well. You should have 3 active AS programs protecting you.
I recommend you read this site:
http://www.internetinspiration.co.uk/computer_privacy_and_security.htm
Windows Defender Beta 2, Spybot Search and Destroy (with Tea Timer turned on) and SpywareBlaster will give you very good protection.
WDB2: (Support and Training on right side of page for proper setup and use instructions)

The best spyware remover is debatable and all ways will be. The best plan of action is make incremental backups of all data so that when a Windows PC gets infected, the data is safe , the Drives can be reformatted and clean install of data.
I use the one from my ISP, it sorta works, but long as we are on a Windows Network, is gonna be some butthead that wants to see my credit card, tip, don't store bank records or anything that you want to keep private on an online PC, that is kinda senseless.

Ron, I have Webroot Spy Sweeper. It came installed with my laptop and the tech who installed it highly recommends it. In fact it did a sweep of my computer only minutes ago and I am protected from over 175,000 potential viruses and spyware.

hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus and protect your PC. but you need to pay for the software
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
download firefox for free:

There are two, both free, and pretty well cover all bases. Adaware and Spybot search and destroy. I set all my clients up with this list (and in this order) AVG (Grisoft v scan) ZoneAlarm (fire wall) Adaware, Spybot se, Spywareblaster, and a "hosts" file.
All free and easy to find and down load from the net.

Xoftspy without a doubt. Get it from www.xoftspy.com
I specialise in virus removal and have tried 100's of different ones. None of the free ones come close.
Remember you can put more than one anti-spyware software on your system but never more than one anti-virus prog.
