Your guess is incorrect. Bush scored higher votes in latino and black communities than any previous rep candidacy.
Enough to make liberals nervous. The next republican president will score even higher because many minorities like myself have learned that democrats talk a good game but don't deliver any real goods.

And for good reason. Conservatives fought tooth and nail against the civil rights movement and every other civil rights law that has been passed since.
