not all dark skinned black women have a problem with light skinned black women. i'm dark skinned and i don't have a problem. i don't care really. but this is a real issue and i feel you on it. you have to understand it is not that woman's fault.
back in the slave days, black women were rapped by their masters, causing them to give birth to mixed and lighter skinned children. these children were considered better because they had some white in them and they had been brain washed to think that white is better than black. as time went on, the idea stuck like glue and black people of all shades thought that if you were light skinned, you were better because you were closer to being white and white was what was right. the issue of colorism as it is properly called was addressed in the spike lee school days movie as well as some other places and that is when darker skinned blacks started standing up for themselves and saying there is nothing wrong with us. they even went to the extremes of calling the light skinned people infected because their skin color was not natural. although it is not talked about much in today's society, it is very much there. i think it is very sad that we can't ignore that color of one's skin and look deeper towards who they are inside. i do that. i love black people of all shades. from the ivory skin colored to the black, and i mean black skin colored. i think the different shades of brown skin are beautiful and show just how diverse we as a people are. no one is better than the next because of their skin color but because of their character and that is how you should judge people, black or white, or any color for that matter.

it quite isn't genuine in maximum circumstances, yet i've got considered some darkish skinned black women persons who favourite mild dermis black adult males or white adult males for that rely. that is all a rely of determination. Edit: howdy-- adult males of all races have an interest in black women persons as long as she's attractive. My dad is white and he married my mom who's black merely approximately 2 many years in the past. So do not talk for ALL adult males, via fact we are able to tutor you incorrect everytime.

I don't think that's necessarily true. At least not for me. Historically, there has been a color complex with in the black community, dark skin versus light skin. Light skinned men or women thinking that they are more attractive because they are lighter and have a desirable "whiteness" about them. It's total nonsense! As far as light skin people having long hair, I don't know what you consider long. I have seen plenty of light skinned blacks with short nappy hair. I have seen dark skinned black woman with long curly or straight hair. The beauty of blacks and Latinos is that we come in all shades with various hair textures. We can range from the color of coal to pale ivory. We should embrace our diversity and uniqueness. I'm a dark skinned woman with naturally long hair and at the end of day it all boils down to how I feel about myself. There's nothing that I would change about myself and I can hold my own compared to any woman regardless of race or complexion. I'm just that confident!

nah...i think it is not a matter of who is prettier or what...i think it's about jealousy..women as we are, we tend to dislike and criticize people if they look better than us...i really believe the saying" beauty is in the eyes of the beholder"...in fact i like african-american hair..i am asian and has a long straigth black hair and have a ligth brown skin but i find black women beautiful...i like their hair...i think, it's a matter of how to carry yourself and do your hairstyle that fits the figure of your face....for me..each of us women in this world are pretty...but some of us doesn't appreciate the beauty that God gave us....heres my secret..if u feel beautiful and prettier than other people..you'll find the confidence in you..you'll forget to bother other people's appearances....

i'm not dark skinned and i'm not light skinned i'm in the middle. but my sister is light skinned and this one dark a.ss lookin dike that i can't stand, it has nothin to do with her color she's just a ******, was makin fun of her. and it's not true that light skinned girls have long hair becuz my hair is longer than my sister's. i guess they always feel that one tries to be better than the other becuz of their shade of skin. i think it's stupid becuz if u black, light or dark skinned, u just pure black, ain't no difference but the shade
o yeah and to all the ppl on here who keep talkin about white women, when she says light skinned women she's talkin about black women that are light skinned. she didn't say nothin about white women, y'all sound a lil confused.

Why do people (you) insist on making broad generalizations based on a few instances or a few people? I doubt you know EVERY dark skinned woman in this world and therefore are able to make that kind of statement. Get over yourself.
