I have had dsl for several months and it has been nothing but trouble. The virus and spyware are useless and I have had to recover my computer several times including 2 times today. I have spent most of the past 7 hours trying to reinstall dsl and get back on line. I am thinking seriously about gettting roadrunner and calling att to take this crap out. I can only get online everyone in a while. I just got on now after hours of trying. This sucks. I can't get my virus protection reinstalled or anything and I don't want to call them because they charge 200 hundred to install the services. It kept saying it couldn't detect my modem which there is nothing wrong with and the self suppport tool said something was wrong with my internet connection even though my modem has the internet lite on.

i don't know what the problem is, but you have to call tech support and just be patient. Your computer may be infected, is that a possibility that it's your system? DSL is fairly easy to install and you should have absolutely no problem. If it is, then getting road runner won't help. good luck.

OK well take a breath and relax

It sounds like you have a Virus and possible Spy ware problem. Some of these infections survive system restore and things. Try using a completely new computer on your Internet. If it works its 100% your computer. Oh and the AT&T protection is crap. Get Spysweeper and Norton or MacAffie

I had roadrunner then went to DSL, havent had any problems after i called them and had them "tweak" the connection. I download as fast as I did with roadrunner. I suggest you call them or u can use the online help too with live tech...you wont have to pay anything, since the service apparently never worked right in the 1st place.
Good Luck!

Perhaps the modem is faulty.
Can you get someone to come down and check the line outside your house? Maybe there's a bad connection there.
You can also try getting new network drivers.
After you install the drivers, reboot the computer and reset the modem.
