My favorite line is Bare Escentuals. It's all mineral makeup and looks quite natural.
As for color, you can go with neutrals and soft berry tones.
For a day look, use a light bronzer on your cheeks, with soft creams and browns on your eyelids, black mascara and a soft berry colored gloss.
For evening, add some dark brown eyeliner to your top lid with brown shadow in the eyelid crease and either shimmery cream or gold eyeshadow. Then add a little more rosey colored blush on top of your bronzer, then use a neutral (browney-peachy-rosey colored) lipstick or lipgloss.
Keep dark very dark colors off your eyes because your hair/lash/eyecolor are all dark, light or shimmery shadows will add some light to the area. Bronzer looks very natural for daytime and keeps you looking healthy, just apply it to where you would have a light tan naturally. (cheekbones, bridge of the nose, forhead, and a touch on the chin.) Stay away from dark lipstick because it will give you a doll like appearance with a small mouth. Light colored glosses make lips appear a bit larger.
Oh, and either do sultry eyes or reddish lips, don't do them at the same time!

The first thing is to go into any department store that caries a variety of brands. They will color match your skin, and show you what colors will work for your skin tone as well as skin type. The one that has the most variety of shades is MAC. They will find a match for you, but you should go outside to see how the color really looks; because of the lighting in the store, it will look different. They will also show you which shades are best for you with lipstick, eyeshadow, etc. Then if you don't want to spend a lot of money, you can get lower end items from a discount store like Target, Walmart. However I recommend buying a higher quality foundation/ powder. It is worth the money.

i see on your avatar that you have blue eyes. high light them!
1. take a small brush and put a cream glittery, sparkley(but not to much of the glitter and sparkle. just a little tint.) below your eyebrows.
2. take a dark brown shadow and put it on your lid.
3. take a medium brown and put it above the dark brown. make sure it's goes by the crease of your eye. and there only.
4.curl lashes.
5.apply brown mascara.
6.do a gold eye liner for the day and a brown for night.
7.take a big bushy brush and apply a peach to the apples of your cheeks.
8. now do a pinky peachy lip gloss. lip gloss is sometimes better than lipstick because lip gloss just adds a natural tint of color and shine!
hope this helps!
