Perhaps the best and worst of human frailty. All of it amplified by corporate power, from military to media and global "entertainment". Sadly, brash, materialistic, clever and shrewd rather than wise, self-centered rather than individualistic, greedy and acquisitive, impatient and childish, hubristic and sanctimonious, defensive, narcissistic, and myopic (e.g. climate change), ignorant, fundamentalist, and opportunistic (e.g. Israel and Iraq), moralistic, but amoral where national or personal benefits are at stake. Multicultural, and enriched in every way by it (and theatrically Jingoistic which cleverly binds the parts better than most societies). AND at its best, idealistic and self-sacrificing, imaginative, inventive, venturesome, energetic, generous, self-critical, and inspiring (but not under Bush!) - truly the home of the brave, and some of the best minds in the world, even if the people and population do not listen to them. And the greatest hope the rest of us have of shaping a better world. Which is what makes us so angry when America disappoints us, in its internal or foreign affairs. Its a big country, in every way. For the rest of us, that is disempowering rather than disarming.

Where do u live. everyone has a different oppinion. I think that American culture pretty much wants to have fun and doesnt care too much morals. Im not saying all of the Americans but way too many of them dont care. Thats it.
