You are basically dealing here with a business application that requires
1. Internet connectivity
2. very moderate graphics capability.

The question really is , if my use is so specific, how can I avoid over spending on it? Almost any modern laptop that offers a built in modem and a color screen will suffice. Don't pay extra for a Super Duper Graphics Adapter- unless your intend to load up a high end video game as well. A real fast processor probably wont be very important either- modem speed and NIC card specs have more to do with speed of access and downloading than anything else. As far as bells and whistles go, you might look into something like Wi-Fi capability - Wireless modems, etc. depending on how Mobile you intend to be when about your trading. Remember that unless you are wireless, you will still have to jack in to wall somewhere to get on line. Its doubt full that your trading software will take up enough hard drive space to be an issue, so were it me, I would go for small, lightweight and sturdy. I am an A plus certified tech who specialized in field warranty repair of laptops for years, and believe me, I have had to repair them all, for one thing or another. Get the best price you can, and try to get the best repair warranty you can. You will be buying something that is small, slippery and at the same time remarkably heavy for something so fragile.

"Online Stock Market Trading" does not require anything special.....you will need internet conectivity though! If you want to get internet conectivity wherever you go, you should get your self a Airtel card and activate GPRS on it....if you want to use a broadband at home, you will need to have a USB port on your laptop....

Conclusion...go for a standard (not really high end gammming laptop) that has a few USB ports and also has an installed lan card!

I like IBM, i am using it for a long time now! Most of all i like the after purchase service they provide. There have a very nice organized infrastructure!

Anywyas, here is a link to a cool article about buying laptops....i found it helpful when i was buying mine: http://www.indiahowto.com/how-to-buy-a-laptop.html

Go for Dell or Toshiba. Worth for money and it will give very good performance. Now there is a big price war in middle east. You can get a good configuration with Rs. 30,000 value. Hope the same offers will come to india soon.

Go to your nearest PC store where many brands of laptops are exhibited and traded. Tell them your requirement and they may suggest you a good one.

I would suggest you look at the HP/Compaq systems. The V2000 & V3000 systems are very good and quite light to carry. The battery life on these systems are quite good. Good luck with your search.

any good company laptop for e.g acer 4150 or compaq 6250 will suffice the need. however if budget is not a constraint, upgrade memory to 1 gb and opt for 7200RPM hdd. use broadband for internet access or opt for wireless dataconnect options for good connect speeds.
