To reduce the effect of random errors. Multiple trials will not help with consistent errors, unfortunately.

Multiple repetitions of an analysis are require to reduce random error. They will do nothing to affect bias or actual measurement error.
Philosophically you can never know the exact value of anything. If taken to the quantum physics level, the simple act of measuring actually changes the value being measured.
Thus, to determine a value, multiple measurements are made. Then statistics are used to evaluate those measurements to determine the most probable value as well as a level of confidence that the actual "true" value is within a specified range of the most probable value.

For reasons of verification. If a you can duplicate the trial, and the results are similar, then the experiment is valid! Also helps to eliminate the possibility of error in one or more trials.

In order to obtain estimation of precision of your determination, such as standard deviation - how closely you can repeat the measurement, and assure than your result did not "just" happen to be a certain value.

Also, you will be able to tell, that no more than (on average, and if no systematic or gross error) certain number of measurements (at given confidence level) will differ from true value by more than certain value (true value is within confidence interval).

it is very easy that mistakes, 'random'
filters in. Therefore, 'practice makes perfect',

your trial may earn the validity it deserves.

Because you must get the norm..and you cannot establish the norm on one try.. you must prove your theory by testing it.
