I believe the pop was spilled on the power source on the computer, it cut of very fast. Is there anything we can do to save the computer?

I got another computer that is fairly new but is scrap, could i use the power supply from that.

YES!!!
you are safe.. Well maybe anyways...

Check your computer open it and see if the pop leaked in and hit any other parts. This is critical. After you locate the parts hopefully its just the power supply. then take a picture to remember where all the power cables were and just simply diconnect your powersupply you may need screwdrivers. Then go to a local Frys or something go online www.newegg.com to buy a new power supply and for the love of god dont turn it on anymore!!! make sure its the same amount of watts or more

**** man, dont drink liquids over your computer ever!!

Dont try to turn it back on with out taking it apart and cleaning it with Q-tips and rubbing alcohol. After you clean it let it sit for a hour or 2 to let the alcohol evaporate.

Make sure you take out the battery and disconnect power before you attempt to clean it.

Your computer might be ******, sorry :( She better make up for that accident ;)
