Hi,
You are lucky to have brown skin tone. You should use a foundation of a shade lighter than your skin tone. Ensure that you apply foundation on your nech, back & ears because the difference in skin tone will be visible if only applied on face. Dab some face powder on yout hands as well. The basic colors that will suit a brown skin tone is - light gloss for lips - you can choose all earthy shades or light pinks. If you want to apply lipstick & no gloss then go for all nude shades/earthy tones like browns. For your cheeks - go for light brown or dusky shade of blusher - just apply it on your cheek bones, jaw line & nose line to highlight your features. For eyes - just apply a stroke of gold glitter & you can use this gold glitter on your cheek bones. Also use this glitter to highlight your nude skin (your back, shoulder etc.) All these tricks can be used for evening look. But if you want to be dressed for a morning function - just be simple. A stroke of any earthy shade blusher on your cheeks & eyes and use a brown lip gloss. If you like than use a kajal (black or brown) or a eye liner to highlight your eyes.

Having dark skin does make it hard to find the right kind of makeup. Personally, I go for the gold/tan eyeshadow and a LOT of mascara. Blush color is especially dificult, but if you have lighter brown skin, I suggest a dark pink...

Neutrals and golds are your friend! I like MAC alot, they have beautiful golden colors that look awesome on brown skin. Oh and if your gonna do the bright *** colors (blue, green etc) use them as a LINER around the eyes, don't do the full lid thing it'll make you look like a hooker.

I have brown skin, and I tried this new make-up by L'Oreal called H.I.P. It's very nice. The quality of the make-up is fantastic, ans it was specially formulated for darker skin tones. Beyonce' uses it!!!

don't do really bright yellow lipstick. if you have: lite brown skin or medium or light hair, do orangey peachy colors, on the cheeks, and a really good dark peachy color for the lips. for dark skin and dark hair, try reddish shade, like rose, rust, and burgundy. use an eye shadow one shade lighter than your skin. if you want more color, coat your eyelids in purple or bergundy.

blend together different foundations.. it is hard to find a concealer or foundation that matches our skin tone... so try to mix them until you get a nice color that is close to yours.
also, gold looks great as eye shadow for darker skin. try it if youre feeling bold!
good luck!
