Remain friends...no one can judge another...each of us sees the world in our own way..Anyone who shares their deepest darkest secrets with me is someone i hold in high esteem for their honesty and their trust and I have no right to say if they are right or wrong, that is a judgement the person must mahe for him/herself.

It depends on what you want in a friendship. If the cheater is willing to be dishonest in his or her most important relationship, why wouldnt the same person hesitate to be dishonest with you in your friendship? You need to decide if the friendship is worth being a party to the cheater's lies. There will always be a certain level of distrust on your part in the friendship with the cheater from now on. If you want integrity in your life, your friends should have higher standards. Are you friends with the one your friend cheated on? Would a friend hide something this important from the friend who was cheated on? If you are friends with the one cheated on, you should tell him or her. You should explain to the cheater that you don't approve of his or her dishonesty in relationships, can no longer trust him or her and can't remain friends with him or her for that reason. Life is full of choices, and honesty and trust are very important in relationships. Ignoring it or turning the other cheek is the same as condoning it.

You just said it - secret. If the cheating happened in the past... leave it there. If it is happening at present, their morals leave much to be desired. If you are ok with it - keep the secret and keep mum about it. If it bothers you like it would me, tell them you are uncomfortable hearing those kinds of secrets; slowly move them to the outer circle of your friends if you would rather not associate with them like you did in the past.

everyone needs to talk about their secrets at times. or at least some things.
i would be more upset if that cheating were still going on. that puts you in a bad position of not knowing what to do. in that case, i would say, please don't discuss that with me again because i know your girlfriend and if you are cheating on her i don't want to know.
it's hard to say because obviously that person trusted you enough to tell you their secrets and maybe they are trying to work some problem out and need to discuss it. but it really puts you in a bad position.

You should not befriend them because everyone does wrong, but I would try and help guide them on the right path.
