I've never experienced it but I know of ones who have had the real McCoy. Very very intriguing at least. Other more popular stories really should make you think about the afterlife in an inquisitive manner if nothing else. No not from closing your eyes do you get a glimpse of the afterlife though.

I don't believe in Heaven or Hell, but I do believe our spirit will leave the body at the point of death, either will or will not feel a bright loving 'presence" and will or will not have their life go before them very quickly. They will see clearly (if this happens) how they expressed good and evil and how it affected others. Then the spirit will go to a place where it is most comfortable, like a very good person would be with the same, and so on down the line to a place where the murderers, etc, hang out together.
But they would never be able to mix with each other.
Either this, or we just go to sleep and never know anything from then on. Both of these scenarios are fine with me.

No, I don't think so. Too many people have put forth answers to this question. In my opinion, compare us to little ants in the universe. When we die, we will first go through psychological/physiological changes thus making us acquire such response to such changes. After all, we would just like having a good sleep and never wake up. It is that simple. Don't make too much of it. You think when all other animals on earth die, they would have spirit running around? Such illusion, may I say, is all coming out from our human mind, all the chemical/biological reaction insinuated from the happening of death.

We all have our theories. It's amazing how much we can rant about stuff and feel so sure about something unproven.
Who knows? It's optimistic to think about a life after death, so we don't just "fall asleep", but it's also irrational to claim anyone knows for sure. No one can truly KNOW something without proof.
There are testimonials of near-death experiences, but even if they aren't lying and believe what they say, they still don't know because they might have been declared dead, but many many cells were alive in their body still. Possibly enough to carry a consciousness or self-awareness, creating an illusion of an "afterlife".
Well, that's a question everyone will find out one day, or if one believes in reincarnation, that person already has.

Closing your eyes gives you a glimpse of losing your eyesight.
You'll either be in heaven, a ghost wandering the Earth forever, or...
Try to remember a time when you were in deep sleep, but didn't dream. Painless wasn't it? You didn't care what was happening around you. That's as close as you'll get without putting your health at risk.
Sweet dreams.

If you go back in time or make it stop you will still be alive. When you die the information your senses gathered through life will disappear from your body and from the rest of us people that still living, at least on our earth. Death will feel exactly like before you were born. Maybe we exist in several living bodies at the same time and therefore also in all time periods they were living. Maybe we are living and experience just a shadow of our self from the higher dimentions.

Well if you can go to sleep, in awareness, you will have a taste of it, and a first hand experience of what it is like to leave the body, and yet feel life !

Death is what I call 'The Great Mystery'. I definitely think there's more after you pass on, what, I'm not exactly sure.

There can't be any hell created by an almighty being..
Unless that being is sadist..
So, don't worry about suffering after dying..
There's life BEFORE death, so don't forget to enjoy it!
