Depends if it was legally obtained. Ed Gein didn't follow the rules.

I am horrified by this question..... where did it come from?? I don't know if you yourself has one or if you're just asking b/c you've heard about one, but I don't know how anybody could keep something like that. This is what the Nazis did in WWII! It's absolutely barbaric, disgusting and an insult to the human race. I don't care how old something is either, human remains should be respected ALWAYS. We're not talking about hair or fingernails here, this was absolutely taken from a corpse. If it IS archaic in someway then it should be in a museum. There is a public law forbidding the trafficking of human tissue, but so far it's only in area of organ transplants. I think there should be an amendment to include items made of human tissue. If it's illegal to buy/sell/acquire items made from elephant tusks, why not human skin?? Ack....

The swatch itself would probably be fine. The methods used to aquire said skin would raise a few red flags.

Acquiring the skin is the issue. One would think you can't harvest it from the dead....nor would it serve public policy to have someone sell some of their own living skin....so the only viable source would be oneself. If that's the case, I don't see why not...except that it's probably a sign of psychiatric illness!...that's it...and you can be committed to a psych hospital for being a danger to yourself.

Eeew.
I dont know, but I suppose if it's your own skin and did it willingly there's no law against it. Gross though--- why would you want to do that?
Or are you just an animal rights activist trying to make a point?

It really depends on how you got the skin. If some one gave it to you, then it wouldn't be I suppose. The real question is why you'd want to wear it.

interesting how we as man have finaly come to wearing our own skin as jewelry..true the natives of long ago found it a trait of manhood and such..but one must assume we have gone beyond that ...in closing if it is your own skin , knock yourself out
