what i mean is its like programing them? to do stuff?

but they are too small... do you think its possible??

Yes, we can already manipulate individual atoms and build small structures. These are expensive small "one offs." Hopefully it will get easier, and cheaper, as nanotechnology matures.

Atoms can be manipulated one by one with laser tweezers and atomic force microscopy probes. Some of the tasks that atoms can do are absorb or emit a photon, donate or capture an electron, hold a spin state, hold an excited state, capture, emit or scatter a neutron. Atoms can be used as multistate logic elements. There is a lot of research into possible applications in optical computing.

Anything is possible. The atoms that make up the electricall connections that are slipped through a cpu and then programmed to Input/Output data are proggramed atoms.
On the Subatomic level, yes, it is certainly possible to direct or redirect an atomic action so one would have to rightfully assume that it is plausible to take control of an atomic outcome.

Yea sure! ok in the oct Maxim magizne... lol theres a page that says how to live up to 130 years old ok soo this might have something to do with what your are saying.....because one of the things they have created or what ever... is they are.... try to use nano tech.. Nanotechnology strives to bulid atom-size robots..Nick Bostrom of Oxfords Future of Humanity Institute says nanotech will allow us to control atoms and mold flesh like play-doh.....BUH BYE Band Aids....LOL... so in that case you can control atoms or in any case i think? let me do some research.. ;o

The smallest nanomachines are still larger than atoms, but they are making things smaller all the time.

Chemistry is the science of making atoms do things.

Atoms have tendancies...they can be manipulated by those tendacies and the placement of nuetrons!! Kinda like a magnet!!

to program anything , we should be able to interact with what we are programming and be able to manipulate their certain properties.
like electric/magnetic/optical / mechanical properties etc.
a bi metal thermostat is programmed to cut off heating because of its diffferent thermal expansion properties. you can program a dog's behaviour to situations because you can 'interact ' with it in a 'suitable' manner to manipulate its reactions to suit your requirements.
yes , i think if you can find ways to so manipulate atoms to perform tasks for you , you could program them.

It is possible to accelerate particles so i am imagining it is possible to adjust atoms with the right technology.

I strongly think not as, even though I study chemistry, I don't believe in atoms.
