Not only legalized but those cases need to be solved faster .. i mean.. look at mumbai '93 blast .. and the verdicts are coming out after 16 yrs and culprits were roaming out freely for all these years .. national security lvl cases should immediately happen and verdicts should come out in 1 month and punishment should be given in 1 month's time .. i even remember the convicted co-female suicide bomber of Rajiv Gandhi got herself "life sentence" instead of "death" and now she happily married inside the jail and nursing a kid.

capital punishment is there in India already. personally i am against capital punishment. because that's one step that cannot be corrected. after all this is a country where even the president was issued a warrant by a magistrate who was bribed by some investigating journalists ( there was a news item about this some time back as i remember it ). in such a society , if some one has enough money and influence he just might be able to commit a crime and frame it on some poor guy. if the poor guy is executed , the original culprit just got away with it and more important , even if the executed guy's innocence was established later it is still of no use.

Not only this, many more strict laws need to be framed for serious crimes who have devastating effect on brains of next generations. You also need to get them enforced to make them effective. Otherwise you cant make the society clean for coming generations.

many guys and gals answering this question are going NUTS. First thing is they should face some criminal cases in indian courts, that itself is equal to Capital punishment. Do you require two capital punishments. Please ABOLISH.

Rapists shud be given death sentences as well those who use acid against fellow humans....its already there in india...
